Welcome to Human. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Human

Human is a non-profit social timeline application. Our purpose is to give people a personal, private space to document their life story and share it with people they trust. We are not driven by advertising revenue, engagement metrics, or data monetisation.

2. Your account

To use Human, you need to create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

3. Your content

You own your content. Everything you write, upload, or create on Human belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your life events, descriptions, or any other content you add.

By using Human, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service — for example, showing a shared life event to a connection you chose. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account.

4. Acceptable use

Human is a place for genuine personal storytelling. You agree not to:

• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Post content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates the rights of others.
• Impersonate another person or create fake accounts.
• Attempt to access other users' private data.
• Use automated tools to scrape, collect, or extract data from the service.
• Interfere with the operation or security of the service.

5. Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to Human. Our Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Human, you agree to the practices described in our privacy statement.

6. Sharing and visibility

When you share a life event with a social circle or specific connection, those people can see that event. You are responsible for your sharing choices. We provide the tools — you decide what to share and with whom.

Life events are private by default. Nothing is shared unless you explicitly choose to share it.

7. Service availability

We strive to keep Human available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. As a non-profit project, we depend on community support to maintain and improve the service. We may need to temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance or updates.

8. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. When you delete your account:

• All your life events, social circles, and connections are permanently deleted.
• Your data is removed from our active systems.
• This action cannot be undone.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that could harm other users or the service itself. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination.

10. Limitation of liability

Human is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Human and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above and notify you through the service for significant changes. Your continued use of Human after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
